U.S. Non-Immigrant Visas

American Corners in Karmiel and Beersheva Host Presentations on U.S. Non-Immigrant Visas: On April 4th and 13th, 2005 PD Tel Aviv and the Embassy's Consular Section organized multimedia presentations on U.S. Non-Immigrant Visas with Ms. Julia Jacoby and Mr. James Miller, Vice Consuls at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, to inform Israelis in the north and south of the country of the Mission's visa procedures. The interlocutors opened with a virtual step-by-step application process, referring to web sites managed by the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and explained in detail recent developments in the visa application process and current qualifying criteria for the various types of visas. An animated video showed prospective visa applicants the steps from application through entry into and departure from the United States.

Results: This program contributed to the knowledge of the participants, regarding the non-immigrant visa-issuing process, while enhancing post's efforts in promoting mutual understanding between the U.S. and Israel. The program fulfilled PD Israel's initiative to reach out to broader, younger, wider audiences while utilizing the American Corners in Beersheva and Karmiel.
