PD Tel Aviv Programs American Artist Jim Schantz Together With Kaye College Art Students:

Pastel landscape artist Jim Schantz conducted a well received slide presentation and discussion with students and faculty from the Art Department of Kaye College of Education at the American Corner in Beersheba (ACB).  Schantz is based in Massachusetts and has displayed several exhibits at the Pucker Gallery in Boston.  PD took advantage of the opportunity presented by Schantz's presence in Israel to participate in a program for the Jerusalem Foundation to schedule him as a "Target of Opportunity" speaker.  More than 20 students from different ethnic groups (including Arab-Israeli, Russian, and Ethiopian) and students and faculty from Kaye College gathered to listen as Schantz shared his love for nature as expressed in his art.  He explained his techniques and special approach to his subject.  The presentation was followed by a practical workshop at the College's Visual Art Center where Schantz demonstrated his techniques
